Caistor Central Elementary School was built in 1964 with 9 classrooms. At this time the nine one-room schools in the area were closed on June 30, 1964.
In September of 1964, some 325 students were transported by bus to this new modern school. On November 25, 1964,the official opening of the modern ten-room school was held.
The bell tower commemorates the former schools No. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and Union No. 3 which were abandoned with the building of the Caistor Central School.
The school was enlarged in 1967 by the addition a library, gymnasium with change rooms and three classrooms.
Today, Caistor has approximately 218 students.
